The information below is only data that has been proven to exist for 70 Charger Window Stickers based on the data in the 70 Charger Registry Database. As more Window Stickers are received and new information/codes are identified they will be incorporated into this list.
The following information obtained from examples on file in the 1970 Charger Registry database should assist 70 Charger owners in creating accurate reproductions. This is based on real examples and will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. There is one recommended company (ECS Automotive Concepts, see end for contact information) offering reproduction Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price Labels (commonly referred to as “Window Stickers”). Not all stickers are the same for all models, so to start let’s make sure the sticker itself is correct. Here is an example of a 1970 Charger Window Sticker as reference:
A correct reproduction should have the following: At the very top right of the sticker there is a Form Number and a Part Number. For a correct 1970 Charger sticker these should read as follows:
FORM NO. 83-320-0188 (7-69) PART NO. 3499118
Below the Form / Part numbers should be the square (box) Dodge logo in red.
At the bottom right corner there should the following logo in red.
Sandwiched vertically in-between the red Dodge box logo and the bottom right red Chrysler logo is the listing of Standard Safety Features and the Other Standard Features. This listing differs by model, so the list for a 1970 Charger is very specific and different than, say, a 1970 Challenger. I have seen some reproduction stickers that get this wrong. For a 1970 Charger, be it a Base, 500 or R/T version, the listing must be exactly as follows:
* Note: The second and third features listed above under OTHER STANDARD FEATURES is blurred and reads:
IGNITION KEY WARNING BUZZER
CLEANER AIR SYSTEM (ENGINE EMMISSIONS)
So with that you at least know you are starting with the correct sticker style for a 1970 Charger. Now the fun begins in actually adding information onto the sticker. Note the alignment and position of added information. We will begin at the top and work our way down. The first piece of information is the FINAL ASSEMBLY POINT. Since all 1970 Chargers were built at the St. Louis Assembly Plant this should always read: ST. LOUIS ASSY
Example:
The next piece of information is the VEHICLE IDENT. NO. (the VIN). This would be your VIN number and is layed out in a specific pattern with a space between the second character and third and hyphens between sections.
Example:
The next piece of information is the S.O. NO.. This is the sales order number. Determining your correct number is relatively easy. The first three characters are your vehicles build date. You can get this directly from your fender tag or broadcast sheet. The first character is the month, the following two characters are the day. So in our example “206” = February 6th. The fifth and sixth characters are always “GX” for 1970 Chargers. “G” reflects the assembly plant code (G= The last six characters are the vehicle order number. You can get this directly from your fender tag or broadcast sheet.
Example:
The next piece of information is the COLOR CODE. At first the codes found here may seem unfamiliar however determining your code is very easy. The color code is a unique code that identifies the body and roof color of the car.
Example:
Choose the color code that matches your car (simple as that!). The codes are: COLOR CODE = Body Color + Roof Color/Style Y3 DY3 DY3 B3 EB3 EB3 B5 EB5 EB5 B7 EB7 EB7 F8 EF8 EF8 K2 EK2 EK2 V2 EV2 EV2 W1 EW1 EW1 C7 FC7 FC7 E5 FE5 FE5 F4 FF4 FF4 J5 FJ5 FJ5 J6 FJ6 FJ6 K5 FK5 FK5 M3 FM3 FM3 T6 FT6 FT6 Y1 FY1 FY1 Y4 FY4 FY4 X9 TX9 TX9 Y31X DY3 V1X Y31W DY3 V1W Y31F DY3 V1F B31X EB3 V1X B31W EB3 V1W B31G EB3 V1G B51X EB5 V1X B51W EB5 V1W B51G EB5 V1G B71X EB7 V1X B71W EB7 V1W B71G EB7 V1G F81X EF8 V1X F81W EF8 V1W F81F EF8 V1F F81G EF8 V1G K21X EK2 V1X

You can get this directly from your fender tag or broadcast sheet. It denotes the interior your car came with.
Example:
The trim codes available were: C2B5 = Blue Vinyl Bench C2F8 = Green Vinyl Bench C2K4 = Burnt C2T5 = Tan Vinyl Bench C2XA = Charcoal & Black Vinyl Bench C2XW = White & Black Vinyl Bench C5XA = Charcoal & Black Cloth Buckets C6B5 = Blue Vinyl Buckets C6F8 = Green Vinyl Buckets C6K4 = Burnt C6T5 = Tan Vinyl Buckets C6XA = Charcoal & Black Vinyl Buckets C6XW = White & Black Vinyl Buckets CRB5 = Blue Leather Buckets CRF8 = Green Leather Buckets CRT5 = Tan Leather Buckets CRXA = Charcoal & Black Leather Buckets
Example:
At this time we do not know what these numbers represent, .however we can say that the five digit number almost always begins with a “5”. Canadian cars start with a “C”. For purposes of a reproduction sticker you may randomly select any five digit number beginning with “5” (or “C” for
The next pieces of information are the SHIP TO: and SOLD TO: sections. They typically tell you the dealership the car was shipped to and are almost always the same*.
Example:
Note that the dealership ZIP Code is to the far right and lines up under the Trim Code above. Canadian dealerships will not have a ZIP Code or POSTAL CODE displayed. *As noted, in most cases the SHIP TO and SOLD TO information is exactly the same, however, we have documented instances where the SOLD TO address was different. In these cases the SOLD TO information was:
CHRYSLER MOTORS CORPORATION P.O. Obviously there were hundreds of Dodge dealerships, most long gone, however here is a listing of documented dealers and the format of their address. If you do not know the dealership your car originally came from (typical) you may elect to use one of these to at least appear correct or make up your own:
